How to win a contest to get funds for a new business

Start up of a business is very costly. Here is an alternative to begging and borrowing. It is a monthly contest.

1. Yes, enter contests specifically designed for entrepreneurs. There are several you can find. It is a great resource, as most business start ups, struggle for funding.

2. You will need a very detailed plan of your business. What, how, why, when. Many contest entry forms are fairly extensive. Others are fairly basic, asking what you are proposing and why you believe it will work. Read the fine print before you start.

3. Some may want detailed research information on your product/industry. What the product is, how much money is needed to run company (services, products, etc), who is your competition and how the competition is doing.

4. Some want audio or video presentation.
   be prepared for any and all of the above.

5. These contests are highly competitive, so be as thorough as possible.

6. Search engine: small business contests at least once a month, as new ones appear.
