Your washer can hold deposits that make it look really dirty and leave you wondering if your clothes are really getting clean or not. Follow these steps for removing all kinds of dingy deposits.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Vinegar
  • Hot water
  • Table salt or fabric softener
  1. Step 1

Pour hot water into the fabric softener holder on the machine if you have bleach or fabric softener stains inside the tub of your washer. Just hot water does the trick. Run as usual.

  2. Step 2

If you have mineral deposits that leave cloudy looking residue in the washing machine, all you need is vinegar to do the trick. Pour about a cup of straight vinegar into a tub full of water--with no detergent. Let the washer run through a whole cycle with just the vinegar water and the inside should be as clean as knew.

  3. Step 3

To calm down the suds in your machine from too much detergent - just add about 1/2 cup of table salt. It will calm down those suds in no time. Liquid fabric softener added to the washer in the amount prescribed for a load of clothes--usually a capful--also works. Salt is just cheaper.
