Step 1
Minimize contact with your ex-love immediately proceeding your break up. This is extremely important because if you pester your ex too much, you will make them want to avoid you even more.
If somebody was calling, messaging, e-mailing you constantly, wouldn't you want to avoid them? -

Present yourself in a positive light. When you do see your ex, you MUST NOT act needy or desperate. Acting calm and confident, even if you have to fake it, will make you more desirable to your ex.

Step 3
Don't try to persuade your ex as to why they shouldn't break up with you. If they were angry enough at you to call it quits, there is nothing you can say at this moment that will change their mind. Trying to "convince" your ex to stay with you is definitely the wrong way to get your ex back.

Think about what actually caused your ex to leave. Not the actual argument or event but what led up to it.
Concentrate more on your own actions than those of your ex love. You can only modify your own behavior. Trying to change your ex is impossible and most certainly won't get you back with your ex.
