      Pour a layer of table salt on the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes. The salt will absorb the red color of the wine and help prevent the stain from setting into the fabric.

      Place the tablecloth in cold water, or run cold water through the stained area. Rub the sides of the stained fabric together in the water.

      Place the tablecloth in the washing machine with an enzyme-based detergent. Following the fabric label, use the highest water temperature possible. Let the tablecloth sit in the washer for a half hour before running the wash cycle.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a heat proof bowl to do this.

  • Make sure that whatever you pour with will not spill over.
