How to create mailing address envelopes with Microsoft Word

Learn to create mailing address for envelopes by using Microsoft word. This task can be useful and also save time and money. Address envelopes can be handy for letters, bills, wedding invitations, Christmas cards, holiday cards and birthday cards. Store these addresses in the computer and print them to envelopes as needed. Why spend more money for some new software when when Microsoft word is available to use.

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Make sure Microsoft word document is open. View the word “tools” at the top of the screen. Move the mouse arrow to tools and click
When the drop box appears, looks for “letter and mailing”. Move the mouse arrow to highlight “letter and mailing” and click.
When the third box appears, look for “envelope and labels”, move the mouse to highlight envelope and labels and click.
Step2
A box will appear on the title bar called Envelope and labels. Make sure the envelope tab is active. Type the delivery address in the top box.
Type the return address in the bottom box.The next task will save the address permanently in your computer.
Now look to the right for “add to document”. Move the mouse and click the add to document button.
Step3
Now you should view an envelope with a return address at the left top corner and the send address in the left middle of the envelope.
Look for “File” at the top of the left of corner of the screen. Move the mouse to file and click.A drop down box will appear. Look for “save as”, Move the mouse to save as to highlight and click
Step4
The save as box should appear. Look where it says “save in”. Move the mouse arrow to the right pass the location box to the second yellow folder with the flash or the looks of a sunshine sparkling on the folder. Words should appear stating "create new folder". Click that folder.
Step5
A box should appear with New Folder displayed at the top. Type a folder name you can remember or type mailing addresses. Now, move the mouse to OK and click. Another box will appear, look near the bottom left corner for “File name”. Move the mouse arrow to the empty white box near “file name” and click once. You should see the blinking line waiting for a name of the file to be typed. Type the name of the sender. Move the arrow to the save button on the right and click. Now, the sender is permanently saved in your computer.
Step6
Go to the printer and remove the 8 and 1/2/ by 11 paper from the printer and replace with envelopes. Return to the computer. Move the arrow to file click once and the drop down box will appear again. Move the mouse arrow to highlight “print” and click.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the envelopes are placed in the printer's feeder vertically. First, test try the the open side to the left and the front of the envelope face up. If the address comes out upside down, place the open side to the right.
