This is the original and typical Italian recipe for "Farfalle al Salmone" - Bow tie pasta with salmon and cream.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • FOR 4 PERSONS
  • 1 lb farfalle (bow tie pasta)
  • 8 oz pink salmon (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsps vodka (If you do not have vodka, you can use 1/4 cup of dry white wine.)
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Red or black caviar
  • 1 tub sour cream
  • 1 small tin of diced tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper

Step1
In a shallow skillet, fry the onions in a drop of oil and 2 tbsps Worcestershire sauce until browned evenly. Add the salmon and cook for about 5 minutes.
Step2
Add the tomatoes, sour cream, vodka and a dash of salt and pepper. Simmer for about 15 minutes over medium heat.
Step3
Cook/boil the farfalle pasta as directed on the package and drain well when done.
Step4
Bring the drained pasta to the skillet, combine well with the sauce. Simmer for a further minute over very low heat.
Step5
Serve immediately. Just before serving, sprinkle some caviar over the pasta. Caviar is sprinkled over the pasta for decoration AND taste, but do NOT mix in with pasta. You can also add some parmesan cheese with the caviar (optional).
