    Find Pictures

When making doing this preschool craft project with your child, you do have a number of different options. You can either use magazine pictures or your own photographs.

  2. Step 2

    Crop the Pictures

Whether you use your own photographs or magazine pictures for a collage with your child, you will want to cut each picture down to size. With photographs try to eliminate some of the background. For pictures cut from magazines, try to make sure that just the pictures are showing, not any printed words.

Cutting down pictures enables your child to fill their page with more items.

  3. Step 3

Get Your Child’s Craft Area Set Up

When it comes to toddlers and preschoolers, gluing can get messy. That is why you should first lay a newspaper down. Have your child put the glue on their pictures on the newspaper, to prevent excess glue from ending up all over their masterpiece.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can make this preschool craft project educational by encouraging your child to categorize. For example, one corner of their collage can be for magazine clippings of food, another for toys, and so forth.
  • If you do opt for making a collage of personal photographs, you may want to frame your child’s collage when they are finished.
