How to Make Walnut Molasses Cookies

This recipe makes about 5 dozen delicious molasses cookies. Great for a sweet treat and for gift giving.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  1. Step 1

    In large bowl, cream together molasses, shortening, and eggs. Stir in milk.

  2. Step 2

    Mix dry ingredients together in separate bowl. Slowly mix dry ingredients into molasses mix. Mix in walnuts.

  3. Step 3

    Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Drop cookie dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until done.
