Choosing the right college can be difficult. There are several factors that should be considered before picking a college.

Step1
Choose a major! Some schools specialize in certain fields. Some schools are considered "engineering schools" while others are geared more towards liberal arts and business. Purdue University is a perfect example. Purdue is a school that is famous for their engineering programs. A liberal arts major may want to choose another school.
Step2
The next step is to make a list of schools that you think you can get into. After making this list, visit these schools! Check out the environment of the schools and talk to other college students. After making this list, apply to these schools!

After being excepted to schools, evaluate all of your options. Consider affordable, location and size. Some people are more comfortable with being far away from home, while others are not. Some people like the close-knit feeling of high school, and would prefer to go to a smaller school. Evaluating these options are key to being successful in college.
Step4
Choose a college! Pick a college that satisfies all your wants and needs. Pick a school you can afford. also choose a school that you will feel at home at.
Step5
Visit the school a second or third time! Make sure you are happy with your decision!
