Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Sugar
- Whole Wheat Flour
- Baking Powder
- Rolled Oats
- Salt
- Baking Soda
- Margarine
- Raisins
- Buttermilk
Step1
In a large bowl combine 2 cups of whole wheat flour, 2 cups rolled oats,
2 tablespoons sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt and 3 tbsp margarine, 1 cup of raisins and finally 1 1/3 cup buttermilk.
Step2
Sprinkle flour on a surface such as a cutting board and knead dough about a dozen times. Divide into 3 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a rounded shape approximately 3/4 inch thick. Place in lightly greased baking sheet.
Step3
Gently cut the rounded shapes into four quarters. Top with a sprinkle of sugar. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 minutes or until light brown. Makes one dozen yummy scones.
