How to Resoften Hardened Brown Sugar
You're right in the middle of making a dish for dinner and you reach in the cupboard for the brown sugar. When you open it up, you find that it has hardened into a soft brick. Don't give up on the meal, though, because you can easily resoften hardened brown sugar in a matter of minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

Place the hardened brown sugar in the plastic bag.

Moisten a paper towel -- just moist, not dripping wet -- and place it in the bag with the brown sugar.

Seal the bag and place it in the microwave. Turn on the microwave for 20 seconds.

Remove the bag from the microwave and check the sugar. If it's still a little hard, put it back in the microwave for a few seconds until it softens. Be careful to not melt the brown sugar.

Tips & Warnings
Only soften as much brown sugar as you need with this method. The sugar will more than likely harden again as it cools.
I don't know what will happen if you leave the bread in the bag for an extended time, I wouldn't advise it.
