Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Ability to be honest to yourself.
Step1
You will have extreme difficulty if you have a poor work history or had trouble with the law at any time. First know that most, if not all business' that hire employees to work at home (not contracted) will do a very extensive background check. The worst thing you can do is lie or over exaggerated anything to the potential employer. They will spend up to $500 for a background check, so they will find out anything you care to hide.
Step2
Experience. Most business that hire work at home employees will require potential employee's to have at least a year of experience, sometimes I have seen over 10 or 15 years of experience required. The job desire for at home work is very strong, so their is a very slim chance for employers to lower their qualifications.
Step3
A relevant reason to work at home. This question will be asked on most application and again in a interview. Staying at home to avoid high gas prices or caring for kids will usually not be acceptable answer, at least not reasons that will make you stand out from the crowd.

on 5/12/2008 Great article! I would love to be able to work from home, but have not found any companies yet that will do this. Do you have info on this? I also have a home business that I do part time, and is going well, but the more one can make, the better. Thanks for this!
