How to fabricate Paperstone

Make A Counter Top------------------------Start with a five foot by 12 foot by 1 inch sheet of Paperstone. This sheet you measure, cut, glue and sand converting the single sheet into a counter top for your kitchen or bathroom.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Table Saw with carbide blade
  • Roueter with carbide bits
  • Clamps
  • Drills
  • Random Orbital sander
  • Biscuit cutter
  • Supplies-glue,biscuits and splines,sandpaper
Step1
Select "Best" side of material
verbal: Paperstone is a recycled "paper" material whose contents create a "grain" direction similar to natural wood.
Step2
Trace template and cut
verbal: rough cut just outside lines with table saw and pass over seams with router
Step3
Dry fit seams
verbal: determine use of biscuits or cut/joint method
Step4
Sanding
verbal: Choose level of sanding a)mill finish or B)smooth
Step5
Repeat Step 3 and fit seams
verbal: rough seams, apply glue,moderately clamp
Step6
Finish
verbal: Choose a)natural mineral oil b)natural wax c) clear gel polyurethane

  • Indicate: Paperstones special fabricating qualities: a) no underlayment required in most situations b) cantilevers long lengths c) unlimited edge details are simply cut with router b) beautiful look finished with factory milled surface
  • Paperstone is a certified "green" product requiring no special safety equipment during fabricaton except a dust mask. Standard Tool safety procedures are a must.
