So it's time for your baby to start eating baby food and you want to introduce it to him/her gently?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Baby
  • Baby food
  • Bowl
  • Bib
  • Baby seat/high chair
  • Spoon
  1. Step 1

Start by selecting the flavor of baby food that you are going to start with. (e.g. peas, carrots, squash, etc.)

  2. Step 2

Get bowl, spoon, bib, wet cloth, seat/high chair for baby.

  3. Step 3

Place baby in upright position by placing in a seat/high chair. Put bib on baby.

  4. Step 4

Open baby food and place a small amount in bowl and refrigerate remaining food. (Only store opened food for about three days in the refrigerator)

  5. Step 5

After washing hands, place a small amount of food onto your finger and gently place finger to your baby's mouth. When your baby opens his/her mouth, place your finger with the food in his/her mouth and let baby take the food off of your finger. Continue this step as he/she eats food. If you need to, gently wipe baby's face as he/she eats with wet cloth.

Tips & Warnings
  • Go slowly as your baby is just learning how to eat. As he/she learns how to eat without problems then introduce a spoon to him/her.
  • Always start with vegetables before fruits or desserts. Once baby gets the taste of sugar, he/she may not want vegetables.
  • Have fun as your baby masters another milestone.
