How to Peel Fresh Raw Tomatoes

Peeling fresh ripe tomatoes is so easy with these mistake proof steps. Anyone can do this and the results are incredible.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • One medium to large pot
  • One medium bowl
  • water
  • ice cubes
  • a large spoon or ladle
Step1
Fill the pot with water and bring to an easy boil.
Step2
Fill the bowl half full with water and add enough ice to make the water very cold.
Step3
Using a large spoon or ladle place a fresh, ripe tomato into the boiling water and count to 10.
Step4
Using the large spoon or ladle remove the tomato from the boiling water and put it gently into the cold water and count to 10.
Step5
Remove the tomatoe from the cold water and slide the peel off. The tomato is now completely peeled and ready to use. YUM!
Step6
Use your peeled tomatoes in stews, soups or any of your favorite recipes.

You might need to peel an exta one to eat while you're cooking because they taste great!

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't leave the tomato in either the hot or cold water too long
  • Store unused peeled tomatoes in the refrigerator until you need them (but not too long)
  • Be extra careful when placing the tomato into the boiling water- dropping the tomatoe can cause the boiuling water to splash up and burn you.
