Things You'll Need:
- Clean container, preferrably with a handle.
-
Step 1
Find a clean container for your raspberries. Preferred containers have a handle or even rope/string attached for carrying. As a child, I often used old ice cream containers with a handle & lid.
-
Step 2
Be sure to wear pants to avoid scratches from the thorns. A long sleeve shirt may also be useful unless it's a warm day. A sunhat or sunblock is needed if the raspberry patch is not shaded.
-
Step 3
Pick raspberries carefully, avoiding ones that are bruised, not complete (birds love to eat berries!) or have bugs on them. Often raspberries tend to "hide" under the leaves, so lift them up to be sure you are finding them all!
-
Step 4
Place the berries in your container carefully. Raspberries will crush easily, so if you have a large container only fill it half full.
-
Step 5
Be sure to wash your raspberries using a collander and let them dry completely before cooking or freezing.
