Help your garden plants grow their best with ecological fertilizer. Not only is it good for your plants, it keeps chemicals out of our bodies. With these tips, your garden will grow its best staying green without the cost.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Manure
  • Garden gloves
  • Tiller
  • Crushed egg shells
  • Grass clippings
  • Uncooked veggies
  • ashes
  • Garden

Step1
Aerate your soil by tilling the garden spot with a mechanical tiller or by hand. Aerating the soil with allow growth for roots and earthworms.
Step2
Consider using manure instead of chemicals for fertilization. Many farms will give you free manure if you are willing to haul it away.
Step3
Use grass clippings from your lawn mower. Layer the clippings with coffee grounds, uncooked veggies, dry leaves, and crushed egg shells. Make sure you turn your mini compost pile weekly.
Step4
If you burn wood for your fireplace or for heat, put a thin layer of ashes in the garden.
