• Manure
• Garden gloves
• Tiller
• Crushed egg shells
• Grass clippings
• Uncooked veggies
• ashes

1. Aerate your soil by tilling the garden spot with a mechanical tiller or by hand. Aerating the soil with allow growth for roots and earthworms.
2. Consider using manure instead of chemicals for fertilization. Many farms will give you free manure if you are willing to haul it away.
3. Use grass clippings from your lawn mower. Layer the clippings with coffee grounds, uncooked veggies, dry leaves, and crushed egg shells. Make sure you turn your mini compost pile weekly.
4. If you burn wood for your fireplace or for heat, put a thin layer of ashes in the garden.
