A good pencil thin mustache can make you the envy of all men. But as facial hair goes, a thin mustache is difficult to grow and maintain. A fake thin mustache seems like an easier option, but can be a little tricky to apply and look real.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fake thin mustache
  • Spirit gum
  • Spirit gum remover
  • A mirror
  1. Step 1

Clean and dry your upper lip.

  2. Step 2

Apply a thin layer of spirit gum to the center of the lowest part of your upper lip about one inch long and not much thicker then the actual mustache.

  3. Step 3

Looking into the mirror, hold the thin mustache up to your face, with out actually touching your skin, and make sure that there is equal distance on either side

  4. Step 4

Gently press the fake mustache into the spirit gum on your face.

  5. Step 5

Apply another thin strip of spirit gum down one side of your upper lip and continue to press the mustache down. Continue until one side of the mustache is completely applied. Make sure the mustache sits right above you lip.

  6. Step 6

As you apply the mustache, make gentle smile and frown motions to make sure you are not applying the pencil thin mustache too tightly.

  7. Step 7

Continue on the other side of your upper lip until the mustache is completely applied.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you make a mistake, apply a little spirit gum remover, wipe the area clean, and begin again.
  • Try to limit your extreme facial expressions as the mustache is so thin it will peel off.
