Fill in first search options. The first option available for your search is “Find web pages that have…”. This is where you put your initial search terms. There are three sections to make use of which are: “all of these words,” “this exact wording or phrase” and “one or more of these words.” Fill in the boxes with the word(s) that you desire to search.

Fill in word or words that you do not want. If there is a specific term that you do not want to be included in your search, fill in the box titled: “Any of these unwanted words:” under the option, “But don’t show pages that have....”

Define your search even more. Under the section “Need more tools?” you can further narrow the results you get from your Google Advanced Search. Select the number of results per page from the drop down arrow to the right of “Results per page.” Choose the specific language from the countless options under the “Language” drop down box. Pick which precise file format you would like under the “File type:” drop down box and then if there is a certain site or domain you want, fill in the box next to “Search within a site or domain.”

Search extra precisely. You can go even further on your Google Advanced Search by opening the next section “Date, usage rights, numeric range, and more” by clicking on the “+” to the left of the title that will open up more available search criteria. This section allows you to pinpoint your Google Advanced Search even more. Fill in any of the following to obtain a better search result: “Date,” “Usage rights,” “Where the keywords show up,” “Region” and “Numeric range.” The last option is “SafeSearch,” which adds filters (three available) to the Google Advanced Search to prevent explicit sexual content to be listed in your final results.
