Things You'll Need:
- 8 hot dogs
- 1 canister of refrigerator biscuit dough
- American cheese
- Catsup
- Mustard
- Baking sheet
- Preheated oven to 375 degrees
- Spray-on shortening
-
Step 1
Spray the baking sheet with the shortening. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Unwrap the biscuits and separate them so that there are 8 single biscuits. Open the hot dogs and arrange the uncooked hot dogs on a plate or cutting board. Unwrap 8 slices of American cheese and place them on a plate or a cutting board as well.
-
Step 2
Take one biscuit (this is the blanket) between your fingers and spread it out so that it is a wide as each hot dog (this is the pig) is long. Place one slice of American cheese on the biscuit. Then pick up a hot dog with your other hand and place it on top of the cheese. Wrap the dough around the hot dog using gentle little tugs to stretch the biscuits to fit all the way around the hot dog. Place it with the seam side down on the baking sheet.
-
Step 3
Bake the pigs in blankets in the preheated 375 degree oven for about 18-20 minutes or until the biscuit is browned but not burned. Serve with catsup and mustard.

Step 4
Variations. Make very little pigs in blankets as hors d'oevres by using miniature hot dogs or sausages. Leave out the cheese and cover each with 1/4 biscuit. Use brats, Italian sausages, or Polish Sausages as pigs. Substitute Swiss, Provolone, or Cheddar cheese for the American. Roll the pigs in blankets in whole dill seeds, sesame seeds, coarse salt, or poppy seeds before baking them.
