Step 1
Get into a routine of cleansing and moisturizing your skin. There are several products on the market for all types of skin (oily, dry, and combination) that cater to aging skin.
-
Step 2
Concealer is the weapon of choice against dark circles, crow's-feet and any other blemishes that may appear. Concealer usually comes in light, medium and dark. Choose the shade that is closest to your skin's color. Apply only a dab of concealer to the area and blend in gently with your fingertip.
-
Step 3
When choosing your foundation, look for products that offer a moisturizer and cater to more mature skin. Cosmetic companies are aware of the different techniques that aging skin requires and now provide consumers with several options catering not only to skin type but also to the needs of mature skin. As with your concealer, choose the foundation color that is closest to your skin tone. When applying, do not put on a thick layer. As the day goes on, your foundation will settle in your facial creases and make wrinkles appear more prominent than they would without makeup.
-
Step 4
Pressed powder is optional. Makeup artists use this product to "set" your foundation.
-
Step 5
For a little color, apply a light dusting of blush to the apples of your cheeks. Your blush can also double as eye shadow.
-
Step 6
Apply a light coat of mascara to the upper and lower lashes. One coat will be enough to give your eyes a brighter appearance but still remain very natural looking.
-
Step 7
A neutral color lipstick or gloss finishes the face beautifully.
