How to Create a Neighborhood Softball League

Putting together a neighborhood softball league can be quite the chore. However, by doing so, you can bring together your community and have a great time while doing it. Here is how to create a neighborhood softball league.

• Softballs
• Softball Bats
• Gloves

1. Begin by finding a local field where you could play softball games. Your best bet will probably be a local school or park.
2. Speak with your next door neighbors first and then others in your neighborhood about your idea. Set aside time one evening to discuss the plan together as a neighborhood.
3. During this meeting, explain the basic idea of your neighborhood softball league. You should bring up such items as when and where games would be played, how many teams there would be and how these teams would be created. Be open to any suggestions made by anybody since, after all, the league is for everybody in your neighborhood.
4. Begin putting teams together for your neighborhood softball league. How many teams you have is completely up to you and the size of your particular neighborhood. If you live in a smaller neighborhood, consider rotating players on two teams throughout the summer or ask others in your town to join the league.
5. After you have done so, buy some essential equipment. Since you're only putting together a neighborhood softball league, you should only need to buy a few bats and balls and, if you don't have any yourself, gloves. Uniforms aren't necessary for a neighborhood softball league.
6. Emphasize that this league is just for fun. A neighborhood softball league should be a way to bring everybody together for a good time, not competition. Remind all players that this is league is for everybody in the family and that there should be no stress involved whatsoever.
