  1. Step 1

Access Microsoft Live Search on your computer. You can go directly to the Microsoft Live Search website to access Microsoft Live Search. This link is provided in the Resources.

  2. Step 2

Narrow your search results through Live Search options. You can easily be overwhelmed with search results, if you do not narrow them down. On the upper right of the Microsoft Live Search website click on the “Options” down arrow beside the search box. Select “Advanced Search.”

  3. Step 3

Type your word(s) in the Advanced Search box under “Look for results that meet the following criteria.”

  4. Step 4

Select either “Search terms,” “Site/Domain,” “Country/Region” or “Language.” If you select “Search terms” you have the option to use the drop down menu to narrow your search even further. The available options are: “All of these terms,” “Any of these terms,” “This exact phrase” or “None of these terms.”

  5. Step 5

Click on the “Add to search” button. You have the ability to add several of the different search options to your search at the same time. You will see the various options being added to the search box on top of the page. Simply continue Steps 3 and 4 until you have all of the options you desire.

  6. Step 6

Click on the little green Microsoft Live Search button that looks like a magnifying glass, which is located to the right of the search box. The results of your search will be displayed.

Tips & Warnings
  • To keep your searches and to be able to get the search results automatically updated, you will need to have an account on Windows Live. Once you have this account you will get a Windows Live Personalized Page where you can readily access updated Microsoft Live Search results and much more.
