Your bedroom should be a sanctum where you can unwind and let the troubles of the world float away. Here is how you can transform it from just a place where you sleep into a relaxing den where you can really kick back.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Armchair
  • Overstuffed Pillows
  • Table Lamps
  • Paint
  1. Step 1

Take stock of the space you have available. A cluttered room, even if it is cluttered with comfy furniture, is not going to help you relax.

  2. Step 2

Get an armchair. If you have room enough, make it a recliner. A chair you can really sink into is one of the most important features of a relaxing den.

  3. Step 3

Use pillows to turn your bed into a couch. If your bed is against the wall, you can use a few big, overstuffed pillows to make a backrest. When you are ready to sleep, simply stow the pillows in the closet or under the bed.

  4. Step 4

Get table lamps with subdued lighting. This can create a soothing atmosphere for when you want to sit quietly and read.

  5. Step 5

Decorate your room with soothing colors. Many people find pale blues and purples relaxing, but go with what you personally enjoy.
