      Plan to visit Fairmount, Indiana, during the annual James Dean Festival, which draws crowds of fans from all over the world. The event usually takes place in September and its main attractions are the Annual Museum Days and the Annual James Dean Run. The four-day-long event also offers live music and parades.

      Don't miss a trip to the Fairmount Historical Museum. The museum houses a comprehensive James Dean collection, which features many of the film legend's personal belongings, including books, toys and tools.

      Visit Dean's gravesite at the Park Cemetery in Fairmount, located in Grant County. Notice the chips in his headstone, due to fans trying to take a "souvenier." Be respectful and look but don't touch!
