1
Sharpen the basic fundamentals of your game. Improve your dribbling and shooting with both hands. This will allow for more options on the floor and leave the defender guessing. Develop a long, middle and post game. Learn how to shoot the jumper from beyond the three point line. Nothing increases a scoring average more than hitting the three ball. Sharpen your mid-range jumper, as this is a shot that is open often.

2
Use an undersized rim with a smaller diameter to practice shooting. The smaller rim requires greater accuracy when shooting, helping to improve your shot.

3
Have someone block shots with a broom. Have them hold the broom up over their head, creating the sensation of playing against a seven footer. Drive the lane, pop jumpers and go to the perimeter, shooting over the broom at each station.
-
4
Play against two defenders, because as you scoring increases you will get more attention in games, meaning double teams.
-
5
Spend time shooting with your weak hand. Do nothing but dribble and shoot with your non-dominant hand. The ability to use either hand is one of the greatest weapons a scorer can have. Make sure that when it comes to basketball, you have no dominant hand.

Work out, work out, work out. Being a better scorer means being in shape. Undertake in a lot of cardiovascular workouts and strength training. Teams will be looking for your weakness, if they sense a lack of physical strength they will become bullies. On the flip side, if they see size but not endurance, they will attempt to run a scorer into the ground on defense. Take those options away with strength and high endurance.

The mental aspect is all about believing. A great scorer believes she cannot be stopped and is looking to either score or create points each time she touches the ball. There is no greater weapon than determination and the unquenchable thirst for success.
