Cooking a delicious steak is a great idea for dinner any night of the week. But what if you don't have any charcoal for the grill? Or, what if you don't have a grill at all? This recipe provides directions on making a delicious steak using a stove top and an oven.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large steak (choose your favorite cut)
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Large saute pan
  • Preheated oven to 450 degrees
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oven mitt
  1. Step 1

Season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper.

  2. Step 2

Pour olive oil into saute pan and place over medium-high heat.

  3. Step 3

Place the seasoned piece of steak in the pan once the oil begins to smoke.

  4. Step 4

Allow the steak to sear in the oil for exactly two minutes.

  5. Step 5

Put on the oven mitt and slide the entire pan with the steak still cooking into the preheated oven.

  6. Step 6

Cook the seared steak in the oven for ten minutes without flipping for medium to medium-rare temperature. Add three to five minutes to baking time well done.

Put on the oven mitt again and remove the hot pan from the oven.

  8. Step 8
