Laxatives come in many variations and forms. Some people prefer to take a pill, however liquid, herbal laxatives are pleasant to taste and easy on your system. Here is how to give yourself an effective cleanse when you need it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Herbal tea with senna leaf
  • Supplemental herbal tea (mint or chamomile is suggested)
Step1
Go to your local health food store and purchase an herbal stimulant laxative tea. Make sure the tea contain senna root as the active ingredient. If you do not already own herbal tea such as peppermint or chamomile, purchase a box of that as well.
Step2
At bedtime, boil water in your tea kettle and make a cup of herbal tea. In addition to the herbal tea bag, add one laxative tea bag. You may take the laxative tea on its own, however it won't taste as well. Adding the herbal tea makes the laxative flavorful and easier to drink.
Step3
Let the tea steep, covered for 10 to 15 minutes. Drink the whole cup.
Step4
Go to sleep. You should produce a bowel movement in six to 12 hours.
Step5
If you don't have results, you may repeat again the next night. Do not drink any more than four cups in 24 hours. This is a very effective and natural remedy to constipation.
