This How To describes the steps needed to run a successful option play.

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

Step 1

Select an option play in the offensive playcalling screen.
Step 2

Look at the defense when you line up to see where the strong side is. This means which side has more defenders.
Step 3

Run the option to the side of the field that has less players, also known as the weak side.
Step 4

Snap the ball and run with your quarterback to the outside taking special care to not get too far ahead of your running back.
Step 5

Pitch the ball to the running back just before the defender is about to hit the quarterback.
Step 6

Maneuver the running back away from the defender that just attacked the quarterback.
