Get your grades up and keep your grades up. It's simple logic really. A college coach, with the choice of two very similar prospects athletic-wise and one scholarship to offer, will more than likely offer the prospect that does better in the classroom.

Video tape everything. If you play for a high school program that doesn't get a lot of notoriety, than how will college coaches know about your game? Have a friend of family member video tape every one of your games and create a video display of your skills on the football field. Have your coach help you mail a video or videos to college programs that you think may be interested.

Attend as many camps as possible. Speak to your coach, call colleges and contact your local newspaper and seek out any combines or camps that are in your area or within driving distance. A lot of times college coaches will be in attendance at these camps. If they aren't there, they will certainly hear if a player comes in and turns some heads.

Speak to writers and editors from the Scout and Rivals Networks. These recruiting companies make money by writing stories about high school football prospects. It's a win-win situation because if you give an interview, they get paid and you get publicity on a popular website that is likely frequented by recruiters of those that are sources of recruiters.

Play hard every snap of every game. When it comes down to it, the only thing you as a player can control is what you do on the field each Friday night. Leave it all on the line every play and if you are good enough to play collegiately, you will get noticed somehow.
