Weddings can get incredibly pricey no matter how many times you promise yourself you won't spend a fortune. There are many ways to save money if you take the time to research your options. Here is how you can save a huge expense by getting your invitations made for (almost) free.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take a look at your guest list and see if anyone on there is artistic or works in graphic design. If anyone on your list is currently in school for graphic design or is looking to build their portfolio that's even better.

  2. Step 2

Ask that person if they would be willing to design your invites instead of giving a gift. If you have the money, offer to cover their hotel room for the wedding as well.

  3. Step 3

Choose your paper and envelopes from a local stationery store. Many stores have clearance products that are very nice and will cost you next to nothing.

  4. Step 4

Print the invites out from work if you work in an office that will let you. Use the paper cutter to slice them nice and straight.

Tips & Warnings
  • If no one on your guest list is a designer, then ask around. Surely someone will know someone who will be more than willing to do them in exchange for something else like a massage, hair cut, or any other skills you may have to offer in exchange.
