TV Ants is a great program that you can use to watch TV broadcasts over your computer. However, the quality of the TV Ants streams aren't always great. One way to remedy this problem is to watch the stream with another media player. Here is how to watch TV Ants Streams on a VLC Player.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • TV Ants
  • VLC Media Player
  1. Step 1

First, you will need to download both TV Ants and the VLC media player. These programs can be found online at MyP2P, listed below in the Resources section.

  2. Step 2

After you have downloaded the programs, open up TV Ants. Then, open whichever stream you would like to watch. Be sure to let the stream completely load.

  3. Step 3

Once you have done this, open your VLC media player. Do not close TV Ants.

  4. Step 4

Go back to TV Ants and right click over the streaming video. Select “Properties.” From here, click on the tab labeled “File.” Copy the asf location link. It will most likely be the last thing found on the “File” tab.

  5. Step 5

Once you have copied this link, go back to your VLC player. Open “File” and then “Open Network Stream.”

  6. Step 6

Select the third option, labeled “HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS.” You'll see that you can paste a URL directly into that option. Paste the asf location link that you copied from TV Ants.

  7. Step 7

Click “OK” and the stream should open into your VLC player. Remember that you must keep TV Ants open in order for the media to continue playing in VLC. If the audio airs in both players, simply mute TV Ants and minimize the window.
