How to Make Balsamic Butter

If you're looking for an impressive and easy sauce to enhance fish dishes or roasted vegetables such as asparagus, look no further. Balsamic butter gives the out-of-this-world bite of balsamic to your meals as a warm, tempered syrup.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. quality balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 clove minced garlic (optional)
  • Minced herbs such as rosemary, thyme or chives (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Saucepan
  1. Step 1

    Heat butter in a saucepan on medium heat, stirring until it melts. It actually improves the sauce if the butter if you melt the butter a little longer than usual, until it is slightly browned.

  2. Step 2

    Remove it from heat and stir in the vinegar and soy sauce, as well as any garlic and herbs you desire.

  3. Step 3

    Salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Step 4

    Immediately pour the mixture over baked or grilled fish, or roasted vegetables (such as asparagus, potatoes, carrots, peppers or onions). This sauce is also tasty over steak, especially with added fresh herbs.

Tips & Warnings
  • Double this recipe for more than two servings, or for a large serving of roasted vegetables.
