Step 1
Organize your yarn. Before taking any step to get rid of your yarn, see how much you have. It might be easier to find a home for 5 skeins of one color rather than getting rid of one at a time.
-
Step 2
Search the Internet or ask your local yarn store if there are any area charities that create knit or crocheted goods for charity. You can donate your yarn to them for their cause or even keep the yarn and pitch in to help by creating handmade goods for them. Nothing local? Check the Internet as there are loads of charities you can send your yarn to. Keep your shipping receipts because it's tax deductible, too.
-
Step 3
Search the internet for "yarn swap." There are always groups that are looking for what you have and you might be able to get new yarn for only the cost of shipping.
-
Step 4
Sell your stash online. Don't expect to get retail, but if your goal is to simply thin out your stash you can make back some of your invest costs.
