How to Use a Glowstick

Sometimes you just need some extra light, especially when camping or night prowling. This is where glowsticks really can come in handy. They offer an iridescent glow that allows for ample light without having to make use of a flashlight. There are some other uses for glowsticks as well. Some clubbers like to break them open and dance with them to highlight their dance moves. To properly use a glowstick, simply follow these steps.

Things You’ll Need:

• Glowstick
• Scissors

1. Acquire the glowstick. You will first need to get your hands on a glowstick if you are to use one. Most camping and outdoors stores sell them for pretty cheap, typically a few dollars.
2. Remove the glowstick from packaging. Using a pair of scissors, simply cut the top of the packaging and slide the glowstick out.
3. Hold the glowstick with both hands to break it open. Cup both of your hands around the glowstick so that both your left and your right hand have ample grip on the stick.
4. Activate the glowstick. Apply even amounts of pressure as you bend the glowstick. Bend one direction with your right hand and another direction with your left hand until you hear the glass tube inside crack. This will mix the chemicals together so it can glow.
5. Shake it up firmly after breaking the glass tube and watch its glow grow brighter.
