Understand that UCF divides its dormitories into "communities." For example, the "Apollo Community" consists of four two-story buildings. What makes this style of living different from other state colleges is that these are four separate dorm buildings with four separate names, but offer the same living arrangements and style.

Check out the aforementioned "Apollo Community." This community consists of four dorms: Lake Hall, Osceola Hall, Polk Hall and Volusia Hall. These four dorms are all connected and all offer suite-style living (four or five residents live in one area that is separated into three rooms, a bathroom and a common area). This community is closely located to a dining hall.

Check out the "Hercules" and "Nike" Communities. This community is very different from the previously mentioned "Apollo Community" in that the buildings house nearly four times as many residents/students. The style of living in this community is apartment-style or suite-style. "Hercules" and "Nike" are connected by a very large courtyard. This community is closely located to the recreation center and the intramural fields.

Check out the "Libra Community." This community is mainly for first-year students or students living on campus for the first time in their respective collegiate careers. This community houses roughly 1,000 students and offers two styles of suite-style living where four students share two rooms and a bathroom. This community offers a common room for students to relax, socialize and watch television.
