Most people will at least know a child that has been baptized. However, baptism isn't something that is merely for children. Here is how to give a gift for the baptism of your parent.

1
Before you go about purchasing a baptism gift for your parent, speak with other family members. Find out what they are getting your parent as a baptism gift. This may give you ideas as well as prevent you from buying a gift that somebody else will be presenting to your parent.

2
Go about the process in the same manner as you would if buying for a child. Since it is a baptism gift, you'll most likely want to buy a religious gift. For a parent, you'll obviously want to buy a more mature gift, though.

3
If your parent doesn't already have one, buy him or her a personalized Bible. You could simply have the name of your parent engraved on the front of the Bible. This is an excellent baptism gift that your parent will truly appreciate.
-
4
If your parent is being baptized into the Catholic faith, consider buying a gift such a nice Rosary or writings from Pope John Paul II. This will aid your parent not simply as a Christian but as a Catholic.
-
5
Buy a nice frame and place your parent's baptism certificate in the frame. Perhaps you could have the frame engraved with the date of your parent's baptism.
-
6
Don't forget to have a special celebration to commemorate the baptism of your parent. Whether you go out to dinner as a family or have a party to celebrate the baptism, it's important to make a big deal out of your parent's special day. The baptism of a parent is just as special, if not more than special, than the baptism of a child.
