Dr. Perricone has been known for his dietary solutions that help calm and cool unruly skin. He, along with other homeopathic doctors, suggest eating bland foods and avoiding certain triggers. This may not be fun, but following a bland diet and avoiding spicy foods can help calm down the redness associated with Rosacea.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Try eliminating acidic foods for two weeks and see if you notice a difference. These foods include coffee, alcohol, tomatoes, onions, sauces (such as soy sauce and vinegar-based products). Also, eliminate any high sugar foods from your diet, including fruits such a oranges, pineapple, mango and papaya.
Step2
For the next two weeks, for breakfast have a half cup of cottage cheese or plain yogurt and cantaloupe. Sprinkle chopped almonds on top.
Step3
For lunch, make your own tuna salad. Mix the tuna salad with olive oil and mix in grapes, apples or a mixed nut of choice. Add this tuna to a bed of mixed greens or spinach leaves.
Step4
For dinner, salmon or another omega-3 fish is a good choice. Add a side of vegetables and brown rice. If you have a sweet tooth, eat either a slice of cantaloupe for dessert or a half cup of blueberries. You can also have a sliver of dark chocolate but make sure the cocoa percentage is more than 70% and that the first ingredient is actual cocoa (and not sugar).

Tips & Warnings

  • Always eat the protein first (for breakfast, eat a almond or two first, and then eat the rest)
