Giving yourself an oil massage can be a very relaxing and individual experience. Here are some tips on how to get started.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scented massage oil
  1. Step 1

Start your massage by picking a massage oil in a fragrance you love.

  2. Step 2

Next, put a few drips of massage oil on one of your hands, then rub your two hands together to warm the oil.

  3. Step 3

Next, start to massage your hands. Use your thumbs to work out tension in the creases of the muscles.

  4. Step 4

Move on to your arms. Massage them like you are putting on lotion, with long, fluid strokes.

  5. Step 5

Massage your torso. This can be a very personal thing. You may like to just gently rub your torso, or you may want to use your thumbs to work out tension. It all depends on your mood and your body's needs.

  6. Step 6

Work down to your legs and massage them like you did your arms.

  7. Step 7

Last, massage your feet. Start with the heel and, using your thumbs, apply pressure to the creases and folds in your feet. Move up the foot to the toes. Run your fingers between the toes and them rub each one individually.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add more oil to your hands when they start to create friction.
  • Use slow, gentle movements to avoid injury.
