Select your destination. You should create a listing of several places you would like to travel to. It is better to have more than one, to allow for a greater chance of finding a destination that will work for you.

How weak is the dollar? Find out the exact exchange rate for the destination you want to travel to. You can find a link in the Resources below. Check all of the different travel locations. This is an important factor, but do not only use it for the deciding factor (consider Step 3 also).

Find special travel deals. You should check around for special last minute travel deals. Always check several airlines for prices and use comparison travel sites. Do the same for your accommodations and check the prices for other means of travel, also. Make sure you include travel deals for rail, boat, bus, vehicle or other means. You could use a travel agent, who may have access to some really special deals with specific travel destinations that would include travel and accommodations (and possibly meals and entertainment too). If you are flexible with your travel dates, you can find some very good deals.

Go on a cruise. One of the best ways to travel well on a weak dollar is to go on a cruise. You can find an enormous assortment of packages available. You can travel on a cruise for hours, days and even weeks and travel all over the world. A cruise has an advantage as you will know most of the cost of your travel up front. This could be a large cruise line that travels around the world, or a small river cruise ship.
