Instructions

Grab a soft cloth if you just need to spot-clean parts of the body of your car. Use the cloth to dust away dirt and polish chrome or metal for a clean-looking finish.

    • 2

Use a baby wipe if you need a little waterless help. The wipe can be used to scrub off dirt or baked-on bugs.

    • 3

Use a car-wash spray if you really need a good cleaning without water. Meguiar's makes a detailer spray that is great for cleaning off your whole car as long as you are willing to put a little elbow grease into it.

Remember the inside of your car. If you don't have the time to really clean the outside, vacuum the interior, which can make it feel bigger and completely clean.

Take your car to a car wash if it really needs to be washed with water. Even during strict water restrictions, car washes are open, although they are probably a little more pricey. You will get the freshly washed look you want, and you don't have to do it yourself.

Step #4 is OK, the rest of this is really bad advice if you care about your car's finish. NEVER use a dry cloth on a dirty car, that is asking for scratches. Spray detailers are not meant to wash cars. Don't trust me...just email Mequiar's and ask them about this intended use. There are safe ways to wash your car with little or no water...these suggestions are not among them. To safely wash a car with a little water, Google a product Optimum No Rinse.
