Microdermabrasion removes the top layer of skin to reveal a healthier, suppler layer underneath. The Microdermabrasion Body Wand is a valuable tool for removing stretch marks, acne scars, minor burn marks and dry patches from various parts of the body. It works in a similar way as the microdermabrasion tube for the face, but covers a larger area and can be used on less sensitive skin. If you want to improve the appearance of your skin with a simple treatment, here's how to use the Microdermabrasion Body Wand and achieve instant results:

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Microdermabrasion Body Wand
  • Dry bath towel
  • Toner
  • Cotton swabs
  • Hydrating body mask
  • Cold compress
  • Soothing gel or aloe vera-based moisturizer
  1. Step 1

Prepare the body for treatment. Cleanse the body/treatment area with a non-allergenic soap or cleansing cream to remove any oil and dirt from the skin. Pat dry with bath towel.

  2. Step 2

Apply toner. Use a cotton swab or tissue to apply a thin layer of toner to the skin. This helps prepare the skin for treatment and ensures all pores are clean and clear of buildup.

  3. Step 3

Begin the microdermabrasion procedure. Carefully move the Body Wand over the treatment area to begin the microdermabrasion process. The skin will slowly begin to "peel" away as the top layer is buffed down with the diamond crystals in the wand.

  4. Step 4

Apply hydrating mask. After the microdermabrasion procedure is complete, apply a hydrating mask immediately. This will absorb into the skin to begin the healing process.

  5. Step 5

Remove the mask. Slowly remove the mask with a cool rinse.

  6. Step 6

Apply cool compress. Apply a cool compress to the treated area to reduce inflammation and redness.

  7. Step 7

Apply a cooling moisturizer. Aloe vera moisturizer or a cooling gel can help soothe the treatment area for rapid recovery. Slowly apply this treatment after the cold compresses have relieved skin slightly immediately after treatment.

Tips & Warnings
  • Continue applying cooling gel or moisturizer for a few days after treatment to help the skin heal.
  • A consultation with a dermatologist will determine if the Body Wand is the appropriate solution for your skin.
  • Your skin may feel inflamed and irritated for a few hours.
  • Avoid exposing the treatment area to the sun or water for at least 24-48 hours.
  • Some areas of the body may be too sensitive for a Body Wand treatment; allow a dermatologist/cosmetic surgeon to guide you through the process.
