Card throwing was first born in the world of stage magicians, but its technique has been perfected over time. With the appropriate amount of practice, simple playing cards can be thrown with pinpoint accuracy.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Place the upper right corner of the card on the tip of your right index finger. Place your right middle finger under the card, about 1 inch down from the index finger. Place your right thumb over the card, in exactly the same position--pinch the card between your thumb and middle finger. Curl your third and fourth fingers in toward the palm, out of the way. The card should only be in contact with the hand at the first two fingers and thumb--but not the palm.

  2. Step 2

Rest your arm loosely against the side of the body. Bend the arm at the elbow, in toward your body. Bend your wrist toward your body until the lower left corner of the card touches the base of the palm.

  3. Step 3

Straighten your wrist into the position in Step 1, and release. The card should glide over the second finger, spinning forward only a few feet. Practice and get the feel of this motion.

  4. Step 4

Hold your arm out straight, parallel to the floor. Bend the arm in at the elbow, into a 90-degree angle. When you reach this angle, move the wrist back even further, as in Step 2.

  5. Step 5

Swing the wrist and arm forward, on a flat, parallel plane. Release the card only when the arm and wrist are completely straight--like throwing a frisbee. Follow through, so that your wrist continues to bend after the card has been released, flicking open your fingers slightly.

  6. Step 6

After perfecting your swing, practice your arm. Take aim at larger objects, and reduce the size of the target as you improve. With time and technique, you can hit a bullseye every time.
