How to Tell Your Guy Friend You Like Him

Telling your guy friend how you really feel about him

Having romantic feelings for your guy friend can be either great because you are so close anyway or really, really bad if the feelings aren't returned. It's a huge gamble, but if you think it's worth a shot, you should tell your guy friend how you feel with confidence and honesty.

Instructions

1. Make a plan to meet with your friend in a place where you can be alone, and is slightly romantic, such as a nice restaurant or bar, or even outside on a park bench.

2. Arrive before your friend does and take some time to calm yourself down. Drink some water, take some deep breaths and relax. This will put you in a more confident state of mind.

3. Act casual but very pleased to see him when he arrives. Grin and embrace him. Ask him how he is doing. In other words, act normal but a bit warmer then usual.

4. Let the conversation be normal after you have both settled in, but keep a look out for a good place to segue into your feelings, such as a moment where you make him laugh.

5. Tell your guy friend that there is something you want to tell him. Make sure that you have his full attention.

6. Look into his eyes and tell him your feelings for him, as clearly and simply as you can.

7. Watch his reaction. If he seems pleased, keep on going with the loving talk. If he seems not to be taking it well, ask him to talk about his feelings for you so you can better understand, and take it from there. At least you got your feelings off your chest.

Tips & Warnings

• You probably will have a gauge on your friend's feelings beforehand. Use this to decide whether to share your feelings with him.

• Have a backup plan of somewhere to go after meeting with your guy friend just in case the talk doesn't go as well as you hoped.

• Expressing your feelings may change the relationship in a negative way if he doesn't feel the same way as you do.
