It is easy to be an involved preschool parent; all you need is a little time and the willingness to participate in your preschooler's school career. Preschoolers are a very welcoming group of children. Unlike your middle school-aged child, preschoolers will not be embarrassed for you to be involved at their school; they will be delighted that you are there.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Volunteer. Volunteering is the easiest way to be an involved preschool parent. You could volunteer to chaperone a field trip, or simply read a weekly story to the class.

  2. Step 2

Open your child's backpack and really look. When your child gets home from preschool take a few moments to actually look at the art projects, coloring sheets and papers in his folder. Talk to your child about them and ask questions. Your child will be delighted that you are an involved preschool parent.

  3. Step 3

Correspond with your preschooler's teacher. A weekly note, phone call or email will take you from uninformed to a very involved preschool parent.

  4. Step 4

Invite children from your child's preschool for a playdate. A simple and fun way to be an involved preschool parent is to get to know the other kids from preschool and their parents. Playdates with preschoolers are usually best if the playdate only involves two children. Any more and the situation could turn chaotic (quickly).
