1. Understand that there are basically two ways to get information regarding high school football recruiting. One way is to check the Sunday sports section of your hometown paper. More often than not there will be a small mention of local players that are drawing the attention of college coaches. If that doesn't provide enough information, the best way to get up-to-date news is to head to the Internet and check out the Scout and Rivals Networks.

2. Check out Scout.com (see Resources below) because it is a popular place to get news regarding high school football players. When the page loads, it will display a small text box that asks you to key in the last name of the player you are wishing to search.

3. Narrow your search by clicking on the "PROSPECTS" tab at the top of the page.

4. Click on the "Search" tab when the page loads and proceed to key in as much information as possible to narrow the search as seen fit.

5. Check out the Rivals Network is a similar group of Web site but provides different features. See the link in Resources below.

6. Hit the "Database" tab at the top of the page.

7. Key in as much information as seen fit. If you want to add more, hit the advanced search button.
