Are you suspicious that a person you know is looking to be employed at a new company? If you're a boss, relative or a dear friend to the person in question, this article can help bring out the secret the person is hiding from you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Notice that the person is shopping for a new business attire. Of course it can be difficult if they already work for a company that requires dressing up. But if you are sure it isn't the case and they are not going to any special occasion like a party, funeral or wedding, it is safe to say they may be buying the suit to attend a job interview.
Step2
Check their computer and see if they bookmarked any job websites such as Careerbuilder, Employment 911 and Job Hunt or if they created a resume online. Also browse through their history on the computer to find out if they participated on any job forums and asked general questions on how they can successfully land a new job or if they are researching about a company.
Step3
Go around their room or personal space to see if they have one or two more job application forms. They will probably have it in a special folder so they keep it looking neat and clean after they finish filling it out. Another way to find out if they are contacting their former employer. If they are doing so, they might be looking for a job reference to give to a prospective employer .
Step4
Listen on to conversations when the person is talking about leaving their current job for a new one. They also might say they applied to a few jobs or know someone that referred them to a position that has an current opening. Also check their caller ID on their home phone or a personal cell phone to see if they'd contacted or received calls from a company.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stay under the radar when you're trying to figure out if the person is looking for a job because you don't want to give yourself away.

  • If you are a boss, remember that your employee has rights to find another job no matter what the reason may be.
  • Be careful of snooping around into the person's private affairs, especially if it is someone that trusts you.
