Florida State University boasts a plethora of traditions and the "Tomahawk Chop" is right up there as one of the most important and most recognizable.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Seminole spirit
  • <br>A right arm

    How to Do the Tomahawk Chop

  1. Step 1

    Raise your right arm so that it is parallel with the ground.

  2. Step 2

    Flatten your right hand and raise to the sky when raising your arm.

  3. Step 3

    In one fluid motion, push your right hand towards the ground until your arm is straight out in front of you.

  4. Step 4

    Return your right hand back to its original position pointing towards the sky and repeat several times, thus mimicking the motion of a tomahawk slicing through the air.

Tips & Warnings
  • If doing the "chop" with a large group of Seminole fans, make sure to be in unison so that everyone is going through the same motions at the same time.
  • Never do the "chop" wit left arm and hand. It is always to be completed with the right.
