You boiled a bunch of eggs yesterday, but now you can't remember which ones are raw and which are hard boiled. The good news is, you don't have to break them all to correct your mistake. Just use this easy test to tell your eggs apart.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Place the egg in question on a flat surface like a countertop.
Step2
Place the egg lengthwise between your thumb and forefinger and give it a good spin.
Step3
Let the egg spin on the countertop for a few seconds.
Step4
Stop the egg quickly with the tip of your finger.
Step5
Take your finger away and watch the egg. If it keeps spinning, it's raw. If it stops, it's hardboiled.

Tips & Warnings

  • The raw egg keeps spinning because the liquid inside doesn't stop as fast as the outer shell. This is a fun science experiment for kids.
