How to widen the compatibility of your palm pilot

Palm OS 5 has provided a new degree of functionality to most Palm devices, but some programs written for Palm OS 4 and earlier may not work with the newer operating system. However, there are ways to make your favorite older applications run on newer Palm devices. Read on to learn how to widen the compatibility of your Palm Pilot.

Things You'll Need:

  • Palm OS 5 files installed on your computer
  • <br>Palm Device
  • <br>Upd353.prc file downloaded from Palm's website
  1. Step 1

    Navigate to the folder named V3.5 that you installed on your hard drive when you set up your Palm device. The default path is C:>Programs>Palm>Update>V3.5

  2. Step 2

    Open the V3.5 folder.

  3. Step 3

    Copy the Upd353.prc file to the V3.5 folder.

  4. Step 4

    Connect your Palm device to your computer and Hotsync your device. The update will automatically install on your device.

  • Back up all files and applications before attempting this upgrade.
